28 questions, organized by topic, drawn from what clients actually ask us at both locations.
Who we are, what makes Gen Spa different, and the signature system behind every treatment.
QWhat services does Gen Spa offer?
Gen Spa offers therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, Ashiatsu-inspired massage, Thai table massage, sports massage, post-surgical lymphatic drainage, and more — focused on natural pain relief, recovery support, and whole-body wellness. Post-surgical massage may require clearance from your surgeon. We also offer skin care, including HydraFacials, microdermabrasion, and microneedling.
QWhat is The Gen Method?
The Gen Method is a full-body wellness approach developed by Generosa Dingal, LMT, over 17+ years and refined across 50,000+ hours of hands-on care. It combines pressure point therapy, controlled bodyweight technique, myofascial release, and circulation work designed to help relieve muscular tension, support healthy circulation, and complement the body’s natural recovery process. Most massage works where it hurts — The Gen Method asks why it hurts, then looks at the patterns behind it.
QWhat is the Gen Spa Method massage?
It's another way clients describe The Gen Method — Gen Spa's signature massage approach. Rather than only working on the area that hurts, it layers Eastern pressure point mapping, Western therapeutic bodywork, and intuitive body reading (built on Generosa's 50,000+ hours of hands-on experience) into a single session designed to help release muscular tension and support mobility. Individual experiences and results vary.
QWhat's the difference between a regular deep tissue massage and The Gen Method?
Deep tissue massage is one technique within The Gen Method. The Gen Method itself is a broader, whole-body approach — it layers pressure point therapy, myofascial release, and circulation work around deep tissue technique so the session addresses the underlying pattern behind your pain, not just the muscle that's sore right now.
QWhat makes Gen Spa different from other massage spas?
Gen Spa specializes in advanced therapeutic techniques, built around the proprietary Gen Method, designed to help release deep muscle tension, support healthy circulation, and support full-body wellness. Unlike basic relaxation massage, every session considers the patterns that may contribute to discomfort, using pressure point therapy, deep tissue work, and holistic wellness principles — each one fully customized to your body.
QIs Gen Spa a woman-owned business?
Yes. Gen Spa is a woman-owned wellness spa founded by Generosa D. Dingal, LMT/Esthetician, with a focus on integrity, compassionate care, and results-driven massage therapy.
What to expect from our therapeutic techniques, pressure, pain, and how often to come in.
QIs Gen Spa good for pain and muscle recovery?
Yes. Many clients visit our locations for chronic pain, muscle tightness, and stress-related tension. Our massage techniques are designed to improve circulation, mobility, and long-term relief.
QIs deep tissue massage painful?
Deep tissue massage may involve some discomfort, especially in tight or congested areas. However, the pressure is always controlled and adjusted to your tolerance. Most clients describe it as a "good pain" that leads to significant relief.
QIs Gen Spa good for deep tissue massage?
Absolutely. We are known for deep tissue massage, using intentional pressure and targeted techniques to relieve tight muscles, improve mobility, and reduce discomfort caused by stress or overuse.
QWhat is Ashiatsu massage?
Ashiatsu is a deep-tissue technique where the therapist uses their bare feet and body weight, often supported by overhead bars for balance and control, to deliver broad, consistent, deep pressure — well suited to clients who want deep tissue work with smoother, more sustained pressure than hands alone can provide.
QCan massage therapy help with chronic muscle pain?
Yes. Many clients seek massage for chronic muscle pain to help release long-held tension, improve circulation, and support the body's natural recovery process. Our sessions focus on the patterns that may contribute to discomfort, not just temporary relief.
QIs Gen Spa good for stress relief?
Absolutely. Gen Spa treatments are designed to release physical and emotional tension, helping clients feel calmer, lighter, and more balanced.
QHow often should I get a massage?
For chronic pain or high stress, weekly or biweekly sessions are recommended. For maintenance and relaxation, once a month is beneficial.
QIs massage safe during pregnancy?
Prenatal massage at Gen Spa uses specialized, side-lying positioning and technique designed for expectant mothers, easing back pain, swelling, and pregnancy-related stress. As with any prenatal treatment, we recommend confirming with your OB or midwife that massage is appropriate for your stage of pregnancy before booking.
QAre there conditions where I shouldn't get a massage?
Certain medical conditions can make some massage techniques inappropriate. If you have a recent injury, are recovering from surgery, are pregnant, or manage a chronic health condition, let us know when booking so we can tailor — or, if needed, adjust — your session appropriately.
QDo you offer natural wellness services?
Yes. Gen Spa offers natural wellness approaches such as cupping therapy, circulation-focused massage, and holistic wellness guidance.
QDo you offer customized massage sessions?
Yes. At Gen Spa, every massage session is fully customized based on your body's needs. We do not offer one-size-fits-all massages — each session is designed to support pain relief, circulation, and whole-body balance.
QHow long is a Gen Spa session?
Session lengths vary by service, and we offer extended sessions, including a comprehensive 3-hour full-body treatment designed for deep relaxation and full-body restoration. Standard durations are available at booking.
Facials, skin renewal, and non-invasive body treatments available at both locations.
QDo you offer skin care services at both locations?
Yes. Gen Spa offers skin care such as HydraFacials, microdermabrasion, and microneedling at both our Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach locations, to support skin renewal, improved texture, and a healthy glow in a relaxing spa room.
QWhat's the difference between an HydraFacial and microneedling?
An HydraFacial is a non-invasive, roughly 60-minute treatment that deeply cleanses and hydrates using vacuum technology and water-based solutions — great for a gentle refresh. Microneedling is a more advanced treatment that creates controlled micro-injuries to stimulate collagen production, improving texture and reducing the appearance of scarring — better suited for longer-term skin renewal.
QDo you offer body contouring services?
Yes. Gen Spa offers body contouring and body cavitation sessions — non-invasive body-care services designed to support the appearance of smoother, more contoured skin. Individual experiences and results vary.
How to book, what your first visit looks like, and what to know about our cancellation policy.
QHow can I book an appointment at Gen Spa's Pompano Beach or Deerfield Beach location?
Use the "Book Appointment" button above to choose your location, or call or text 561-674-5215 and we'll help you select the best service for your needs.
QWhat should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session starts with a short conversation about your goals, problem areas, and health history so your therapist can tailor the session to your body. Gen Spa doesn't run one-size-fits-all massage — every visit is built around what you need that day.
QWhat should I wear to my appointment?
Whatever is comfortable. You'll be professionally draped throughout your session per standard practice, and your therapist will only undrape the area being worked on.
QDo I need to arrive early for my appointment?
We recommend arriving a few minutes early so your session can start on time and you're not rushed beforehand.
QWhat are your hours?
Pompano Beach is open Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 7am–7pm. Deerfield Beach is open Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 7am–7pm.
QDo you offer spa packages?
Yes. Current spa packages include Detox & Glow – 2 Hours, Glow & Renew Ritual, and Organic Facial + Therapeutic Massage. Prices are listed on our Services page, or call 561-674-5215.
QIs there a cancellation fee if I need to cancel my appointment?
Yes. If you need to cancel an appointment that's already booked, a $50 cancellation fee applies. Whenever possible, we recommend rescheduling instead of canceling — call or text 561-674-5215 as early as you can so we can help find a time that works better for you.
Still Have Questions?
This is not a standard massage. It never was.
If you didn't find the answer you were looking for, Generosa and the Gen Spa team are happy to walk you through it — call, text, or book a session and ask us in person.
